Mr Stevens was one of four Consultants recommended to me via a friend's Moorfields Consultant: Prof David Garway-Heath, who has a different 'speciality'. I read through the Moorfields' information on all those who had been recommended and immediately chose Mr Julian Stevens. My intuition was rewarded once I logged onto his website and read - in depth - about his expertise, passion, experience, achievements..... the list goes on and is best understood by any prospective patient reading through the information contained in the website. At my initial appointment, his team were very knowledgeable not only with regard to my care, but also clearly appreciative of the professional mentoring and guidance Mr Stevens gives them. So, it seems, not only does he look after his patients, but also his team! The appointment also included a meeting with Mr Stevens and he's excellent! Very reassuring about the treatment, he wanted to understand precisely what I'd like to achieve and provided realistic conclusions about the processes. The procedure was carried out three days ago on both my eyes and I can't speak highly enough of the care I experienced. I expected 'discomfort and eye-bandages' - but it was completely painless, I came out with no bandages at all and was encouraged to gently 'make the new lenses work' immediately. A post-op check-up with Mr Stevens two days later proved that he can only be described as 'a magician'. I've gone from being very short-sighted, a contact lens prescription of -9.0 and -9.5, with astigmatism and developing cataracts, to being assessed as having better than 20/20 vision, which will improve even more so over the next month once the post-op medication (drops) have finished. And as an addendum...... not only is the pre-op, during-op, post-op care exceptional, Mr Stevens also cares enough about how his patients are able to manage at home by working to develop/provide an App to remind patients when and which drops to apply (rather than have to write long lists)! This has been vital reassurance to me, knowing that I'm able to best care for my eyes during their recovery! I can't thank him enough and would not hesitate to recommend Mr Stevens most highly. Thank you! Debbie Bishop

After putting it off for several years due to being worried about undergoing the procedure, I went to Mr Steven's to get my short-sighted vision corrected after he performed eye surgery on my mother around 12 years earlier. I was recommended LASEK Wavefront treatment, and it was done at the end of May 2021. Mr Steven's, and all of the staff who performed the various tests, were very nice, made me feel very reassured and could answer all questions which I had. They were also very prompt at going through all the tests so it didn't take long at all! The procedure itself only lasted approximately 5 minutes per eye and, despite my anxieties, Mr Steven's did a fantastic job. As well as this, all other staff involved were very good. The aftercare team were also really good. I received check-up text messages and emails very regularly, and whenever I emailed with a question I got a reply extremely quickly, often within 20 minutes of sending an email. At my four month check-up after surgery I had all the pre-surgery tests repeated and, once again, the staff were amazing. I was told that I now exceed 20/20 vision, and it is incredible having gone from wearing glasses everyday to seeing crystal clear! Mr Steven's then confirmed that my eyes had healed successfully, and that it isn't even noticeable that I had the surgery in the first place! As I'm sure everyone says, I wish I had done it sooner! I would fully recommend Mr Steven's, and have already recommended him to everyone I know who is currently considering eye surgery.

I had bilateral lens replacement surgery done to both of my eyes. The level of professionalism from Mr Stevens and his team made me feel completely at ease with the entire process and procedure. If I had have known how outstanding the results are I would have done this many years ago. Although having said that, the advancement in lens technology and laser equipment has resulted in a superior outcome. It is only two weeks post my surgery and my eyesight is phenomenal. Mr Stevens tells me that that it will improve even more over the months to come. I would certainly recommend Mr Stevens to anyone who is considering this or other eye surgery. Thank you Julian and your team !

As a professional illustrator, my eyesight is particularly precious and after accepting that my developing cataracts needed attention, I naturally researched “eye surgeons” on the internet. I could not be happier that I discovered Julian Stevens. The experience has been overwhelmingly positive, from informative initial consultation to pain-free surgery and thorough post op care. Not only is my vision sharper and more colourful than ever but I am able to drive without glasses and can see my 4K TV in true 4K! My thanks to Mr Stevens and his team for their highly professional and caring attention.

Having suffered with failing eyesight for nearly two years our family opticians confirmed that I needed cataract surgery. I chose Julian Stevens for this procedure because he operated on my husband’s cataracts 17 years ago and my husband had a brilliant experience and now has excellent eyesight. Julian performed on my right eye in August 2021, the procedure went flawlessly and I now have 20/20 vision in that eye. In September 2021 I went for my left eye. This was a bit more complicated as I also needed treatment for my membrane on this eye. Julian performed the cataract at the same time as Professor Bainbridge performed the membrane surgery and again both procedures went very well. I was given a detailed diagnosis and clear explanations of what I could expect - this eye will take longer to improve because of the membrane complications. Each and every passing day my sight on my left eye is improving vastly hopefully it won't be long before I can have 20/20 vision in both eyes. The whole experience has been fantastic. Initial and subsequent visits where I went through a very extensive examination, which exposed the membrane problem as well. I am very grateful for this as well. The team are very professional and caring throughout the entire process. I cannot thank Julian Stevens enough for helping me through this. I would also like to thank Ms Janet Bartlett for all her help in organising this process from start to finish and helping me through the procedures, thank you Janet.
